ABOUT NARENDRA BISHT

The son of a photography instructor, Narendra Bisht is New Delhi based editorial and portrait photographer. He holds a position of chief photo editor with Fortune India magazine. He picked up his first camera at age nine. Much to the dismay of his parents, he began to work at age 18 for a Dehradun-based Hindi newspaper. He completed a BA while working there and since then has shot for the India Today, Outlook magazine, The Times of India Group and Dainik Jagran. He has covered the Iraq War and the conflict in Kashmir.  His book 'The first Garden of the Republic was Launched by Indian President, Vice President and Prime minister Narendra Modi which talks about flora and fauna of the Presidential estate. Delhi’s not a bad place to earn a living, muses Bisht, but he dreams of retiring to a hillside home in his native Garhwal.
